Puppy Training Classes Elgin

Basic Obedience Level 1 Group Class

$175 for six classes up to 60 minutes in length.

This class focuses largely on establishing effective handler and dog communication while learning basic obedience skills.

During this six-week course we will work on name recognition as a foundation for recall and release, along with basic obedience skills like sit and down. We will address common issues like jumping and leash pulling so owners have the tools need to achieve comfortable loose leash walking. We will then further proof those skill with increased distractions including high reward items, greeting and approaching people, and other dogs. This class focuses largely on effective handler and dog communication. Each class will be approximately 60 minutes in length and will be held at our indoor climate-controlled training facility in South Elgin.  This class will run for 6 consecutive weeks and will have one make up class available for anyone who missed a regularly scheduled class.

Owners are welcome to bring their dog's favorite treats, however this class is designed to establish praise as the reward instead of food. Training collar recommendations may be made on an idividual basis if needed.

Limited spaces available as complimentary follow up for board and train students.

Intermediate Obedience Level 2 Group Class

$185 for six classes up to 90 minutes in length.

This class will focus on environmental proofing of all the skills learned in our Level 1 Class with emphasis on engagement.

During this six-week course we will work both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) to focus on environmental proofing all the skills learned in our Level 1 Class in a variety of social situations and in a social environment with emphasis on engagement, re-engagement, and teaching the dog to respond to body cues beyond leash pressure. Each class will be 60 to 90 minutes in length. Classes will meet at our training facility in South Elgin and may venture outside for portions of each lesson so owners gain hands on practical application experience using the skills their dogs have learned. This class will run for 6 consecutive weeks. We will have a make up class available for anyone who missed a regular scheduled class.

Owners are welcome to bring their dog's favorite treats, however this class is designed to establish praise as the reward instead of food. Training collar recommendations may be made on an idividual basis if needed.

Limited spaces available as complimentary follow up for board and train students.
